Customer states:
• The horn beeps unintentionally when the steering wheel is turned.
Workshop findings:
• When turning the steering wheel, the horn beeps unintentionally.
Technical Background
Various steering column switch modules have been replaced under warranty for the condition noted above but no
issues were identified with these parts. Replacing the steering column switch module in these cases did not resolve
the concern.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
If the customer’s complaint can be reproduced, perform the following:
1. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel.
2. Turn the steering wheel to check if the horn still activates unintentionally.

3. If the issue is resolved with the airbag removed from the steering wheel, continue by inspecting the airbag
assembly for the cause of the issue.
