On Coast Down Prior to 4-3 Downshift
Some 2022 F-Super Duty four-wheel drive (4WD) pickup vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may
exhibit a momentary, slight grinding type noise prior to the 4-3 downshift while coasting without the
brakes applied. This condition does not affect vehicle durability. Replacement of the transmission or
other components will not resolve this condition and engineering is currently working on a solution
which is expected to be available by June 2022. Let the customer know they can continue to drive
the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for June 2022. Monitor OASIS for updates and
confirm that the service appointment is going forward once the repair becomes available.
