DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain that the clip on the rear end of the rear beltline molding is loose and the molding is
slightly lifted up.
Due to the poor shape of the clip claws, the fitting force to the door body may decrease while in use. To eliminate this
concern, the clip has been enlarged in the horizontal direction to improve the fitting force against the door body.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Replace both the left and right side clips with the modified ones according to the following repair procedure.
Required Tools:
• Long nose pliers
• Harness tape

a. Wrap the harness tape around the pliers to prevent scratching the body.
NOTE: DO NOT wrap the tape around the tip of the pliers to allow for easy grabbing.
b. Check if the rear beltline molding is unclipped or not.
• If the clip is unclipped, go to step f.
• If not, go to step c.
c. Open the rear door, and flip the glass run channel upward from the inside of the door. Check the clip that holds
the belt-line molding in place (dotted circular part).

d. Insert the pliers through the gap, pinch the clip, and push it in the direction of release.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the door body panel.
e. Check if the rear beltline molding is lifted.
f. Place your hand on the clip from below and remove the clip by sliding it with the opposite fingers.
NOTE: When removing the clip, be careful not to pull the belt line outward more than 1.6 in (40 mm) (1) The beltline molding may be deformed permanently if the clip is pulled outward more than 1.6 in (40 mm).
g. Install the modified clip in the same way as in step f (place your hand on the clip from below) and other
removed parts in reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Some vehicles use clips with gaskets, but there is no problem replacing them with improved ones without
gaskets.
3. Verify the repair.
