Tech Line Summary Article March 2016 ATS 150801 Version 3 Front Seat-Back Creaks or Squeaks AFFECTED VEHICLES 2013−15 Canada-built Civic Coupe and Civic Si EDITOR’S NOTE: This article replaces the one posted in December 2015 to extend the article’s shelf life. The issues covered are still being addressed. Does the front seat-back creak or squeak when you move around in the seat or get in or out of the vehicle? What’s likely causing it is the seat-back fabric rubbing against the foam pad underneath. This noise only happens when the seat gets hot (the seat temperature is over 104° F). We’re aware of this concern and we’re currently working on a solution, so, at this time, there’s no product improvement available. Until there is, don’t try replacing the seat frame or the seat-back pad. You won’t get rid of this noise and you just might wind up with a come-back. Be sure to pass this info along to the service advisor so he or she can inform your customer of the situation. © 2016 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved
