LED LICENSE PLATE LAMP REPAIR PROCEDURES
SUBJECT:
Description: Certain 2022MY Tucson (NX4/NX4a) and Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV) vehicles equipped
with LED type lamps may exhibit loose license plate lamps, caused by out of specification lamp
housings. This bulletin provides the procedures to repair the condition by replacing the affected license
plate lamps.
Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2022MY Tucson (NX4/NX4A) and Tucson Hybrid (NX4 HEV) vehicles
equipped with LED type lamps.

LICENSE PLATE LAMP PARTIAL REPAIR PROCEDURES
Service Procedure:
1.
Record radio presets and disconnect the
negative (-) battery terminal.
2.
Remove the lift gate trim (A).
Refer to the shop manual for the complete
replacement procedure:
Body (Interior and Exterior) > Liftgate >
Liftgate Trim

Remove the rear center combination lamp (B).
Refer to the shop manual for the complete
replacement procedure:
Body Electrical System > Lighting System >
Rear Combination Lamp > Rear Inside

4.
Press the upper tabs (C) to disconnect the
license plate lamp(s) from the rear center
combination lamp.

5.
Replace the affected license plate lamp(s).
6.
Install parts in reverse order of removal.
7.
After connecting the negative (-) battery
terminal, be sure to reprogram radio presets.
8.
Verify that the license plate lamps are not loose
and functioning properly.
9.
The service procedure is complete.
