My wiper blades motor when off the windshield several times as we driving down interstate 71, which i had to get out and reset them. This was during the a huge downpour this weekend in the kentucky off of interstate 71. A severe alert was text out later that night, saturday march 30, 2019. I work myself to an exit where as i was pulling into a gas station to look at the issue, i damage the right side of my unit, hitting a black pole at the pump i was pulling in, because i was unable to see out the front of the rv. I have attached two pictures to the file show how the wipers end up as we turn around and drove back home. I contacted road side service (cost $300.00) but they could not fix the problem due to the lack of parts for the wiper motor. We have owned this unit for six years, if this was such an issue they should have issue a no drive recall and had the dealer contact us directly to schedule the repair. I even took my unit in to dealer for a minor service issue but no one check to see if there were any open issues with my unit. *tr

While driving down a major highway in the pouring rain, my passenger side window wiper dropped below the window frame eventually getting tangled with the drivers side arm. The wipers failed to clear the window making it difficult to see ahead of me. I was able to pull off to the side and reset the wipers to where both would operate normally but once on the road driving at highway speeds, the passenger side arm failed again. I contacted daniel carr at thor regarding this issue and he provided 3 dealers that i could take my rv too but 2 of them refused to work on the wiper problem, while the third dealer would but i'[d have to pay for the repairs. I looked at the wiper linkage behind the cowl and found a loose nut where the pivot assembly hooks to the motor via a metal bracket. After tightening the nut, the problem still exist. I have also experienced on my last trip the wiper system would not turn off using the switch. I had to shut down the rv and restart inorder to stop the wiper.

I have a 2013 thor hurricane class a motor home. The door handle and lock were made by trimark; part number 060-0650. I recently discovered that i could not open the entrance door from the outside. This is the only door on the motor home, which is very common with class a's. I then had to crawl through a window to gain access and discovered i couldn't open the door from the inside either. The motor home was parked in my driveway. After taking off the inside door trim, i could see that operating the handle was not moving the plunger out of the strike plate, thus making the door impossible to open. After using a small tool and a piece of stiff wire i was able to push the plunger away from the strike plate and then opened the door. When the door opened the broken plunger flew out from the lock (there is a spring behind it). It was obvious that the plunger assembly had broken internally. It took me a half an hour to open the door. After doing research on the internet, i found a number of rv owners have had the same problem with this lock. This situation is extremely dangerous if inside the motor home and need to escape in an emergency. Winnebago industries even issued a recall on this issue (nhtsa safety recall 15v-510) and trimark has discontinued this model lock. I am urging your agency to look into this matter and issue a recall from all motor home manufacturers using this lock. I have included pictures of the lock where the plunger should be and the broken plunger itself. Also included is a web page from trimark showing this lock has been replaced with a different model.

While driving cross country we experienced a complete failure of the wipers during a hard rain. The wipers dropped off the windshield but we were able to pull over and reset them. Once we started back onto the road, they failed again. We ended up driving to the campsite with no wipers. We had a mechanic come to look at the problem and was told it needed a complete assembly. We decided to wait till we got home before having the wipers repaired. When home, we went to a thor dealer who informed us there was no recall on this problem on our model and we paid $300.00 to have the wipers fixed. That repair worked for a short period of time before it failed again just like the first time. We now have it at an independent shop to have the wipers repaired. The mechanic there also informed us the wipers will not shut off when turning the switch off. He has contacted thor but they will not assist in providing parts or technical support. *tt *tr *bf the consumer submitted photos. *tr

Every time i use the wipers on a trip in the rain the passenger side gets stuck on the drivers side which makes them stop working. I have to pull over with no wipers and remove the passenger side wiper arm in order to continue my trip with the drivers side wiper only. Sometimes the drivers side goes too far and gets stuck on the side of the windshield scratching the pain on the coach. I've take the arms off, replaced the knurled drive nuts, tightened the rotation shaft nuts and re-timed the wipers several times. I've called thor and they want nothing to do with it since its a 2013 and pre-recall.
