• Recall 131235 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Thor motor coach (thor) is recalling various 2003-2018 recreational vehicles, equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   Thor motor coach (tmc) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 hurricane and windsport motor homes manufactured january 30, 2013, to march 6, 2015. In the affected motor homes, the vehicle exhaust is located near a storage compartment where heat may build-up, causing the compartment to melt.

  Thor motor coach (thor) is recalling certain model year 2011-2016 thor challenger, thor citation, thor hurricane, thor tuscany, thor windsport, 2011-2012 thor astoria, thor avanti, thor chateau, 2011-2014 thor daybreak, 2011-2015 thor outlaw, thor siesta, 2014-2015 thor miramar, 2012 thor four winds, 2008-2011 damon astoria, damon daybreak, damon outlaw, damon tuscany, 2008-2012, damon challenger, 2008-2010 damon essence, 2009-2011 damon avanti, four winds chateau, four winds citation, four winds four winds, four winds hurricane, four winds siesta, four winds windsport, 2009-2010 four winds dorado, four winds dutchmen, four winds magellan, four winds mandalay and 2009 four winds fun mover, and four winds presidio motorhomes. The affected vehicles are equipped with certain lippert-brand coachstep double and triple electric steps. These steps use a bolt to attach the fan gear assembly to the steps. This bolt may fracture allowing the fan gear to disengage from the steps. As a result, the steps may not remain in the expected position and may be unstable.

The affected awnings may have screws that attach the lateral arm brackets to the mounting brackets that were not manufactured to specification.

  On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage.   Certain motorhomes may have part of the exhaust pipe running too close to a vehicle storage compartment. The exhaust should have a heat shield in this area, as without one, the heat would not be properly dissipated around the exhaust of the vehicle. This would increase the risk of melting and/or a fire, which could result in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will install a heat shield to protect the storage compartment.

• Recall 2015529 [Canada]: Structure
  On certain motorhomes equipped with lippert components inc. Electric entry steps, an internal bolt on the steps that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps could fracture. This results in the fan gear disengaging from the steps, which could cause the steps to stop in an unexpected position and appear to be loose or unstable. If the steps become unstable, it could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: dealers will install a step retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, and all bolts of the mechanism will also be replaced.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 thor windsport. The contact stated that the driver's side windshield wiper failed to operate. General rv center (14000 automall dr, huntley, il 60142, (847) 669-5570) and the manufacturer were contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 27,000. *tr*jb

In same states it is impossible to put gas into the tank without using a funnel. This causes the gas to splash back soaking the 2 people it takes to put fuel in. The reason this happens is that there is not room for the gas nozzle to fit down into the line to the gas tank. In other states it is very difficult to get the nozzle in, but possible. When we approached thor about it they told us it was out of warranty and they would do nothing about it. We live in colorado (a difficult but not impossible state) and traveled to california (an impossible state) before we discovered this impossibility. Something like this should not depend on a warranty to fix. It is nothing that can "wear out".

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 thor windsport. While driving in the rain at 60 mph, the passenger side windshield wiper arm failed and caused the wipers to become entangled. The vehicle was diagnosed by a certified mechanic who stated there was a design flaw and the wipers were missing a stopping mechanism that prevented them from overextending. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vin was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 9,500.

Bed over cab comes down on it"s own electric jacks come on while driving,front wheels make loud noise all the time. All this and only 2 weeks old.Got it 7/16/15
