Symptom 201000 Lighting Systems
Issue:
Front headlamp reflector and or bulb holder "Melted".
Cause:
Miss fitting of the bulb holder after bulb replacement.
Action:
Content
When replacing the pilot lamp (side lamp) bulb special
care must be taken to make sure that the bulb holder is
inserted into the reflector housing correctly.
The bulb holder should be inserted / push into place
securely until a firm click can be felt & herd.
If the bulb holder is not fully inserted it becomes lose, the
bulb then comes into contact with the reflector housing
melting both the bulb holder and reflector. This results in
the need for a replacement lamp.
Please see attachment for illustrations of a correctly
fitted bulb holder and a melted lamp and bulb holder as a
consequence of misfitting the bulb holder.
