SUBJECT
N52T/N55 with 8HP45: Delay in Engine Response
MODEL
E70, E71 with the N55 engine and 8HP45 transmission from 4/1/2010 to 1/16/2012
F07, F10 and F25 with either the N52T or N55 engines and 8HP45 transmission up to 1/16/2012
SITUATION
When slowing down to lower suburban road speeds and then reaccelerating, a delay in engine response
may be experienced.
This situation may be more noticeable when driving in a bend in the road or on roads with a rising
gradient.
CAUSE
Unfavorable EGS and DME software calibration
CORRECTION
Program the vehicle using ISTA/P 2.46.0 or higher.
The corrected EGS and DME software was introduced as listed below.
E70, E71 N55:
E070-12-03-500 or higher
F07 N55:
F001-12-03-500 or higher
F10, N52T / N55:
F010-12-03-500 or higher
F25 N52T / N55:
F025-12-03-500 or higher
Note that ISTA/P will automatically reprogram and code all programmable control modules that do not
have the latest software.

Note: When the ISTA system message displays:
Battery voltage only “XX.XX” V. Please connect charger.

consists of the last 7 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Click on the “Search” button,
and then enter the applicable flat rate labor operation in the FR code field.
If a control module fails to program correctly or initializations are required, the additional work must be

SITUATION
A customer may complain of a delay in engine response after decelerating at low road speeds and then
reaccelerating. This can occur when the transmission remains in a high gear due to a delay in the transmission
downshifting.
This situation can be more noticeable while driving on roads with slight turns or with an increasing gradient.
CAUSE
Unfavorable EGS and DME software
CORRECTION
Perform diagnostics using ISTA/D and work through the recommended test modules found by manually selecting
the specific path below:

Depending on the vehicle and engine variant, program the vehicle using the latest version of ISTA/P only if the
current integration level is lower than what is listed below.
For F10 and F25 N52T vehicles:
The final measures, with improved DME and EGS software, were introduced with the integration levels:
F010-13-07-501/F025-12-07-508
For E70, E71, F07, F10 and F25 N55 vehicles:
Improved DME and EGS software was introduced in 3/2012 and ISTA/P 2.46.0 with the following integration
levels:
E070-12-03-500/F001-12-03-500/F010-12-03-500/F025-12-03-501
