This Update is in effect until removed. Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria: • Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 24T3 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair. • Vehicle must be within the S342-U14 Intake Manifold RC Motor Warranty Extension. • Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin. • Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale. Technical Background It is possible that the intake manifold flap actuator may fail on Audi vehicles with 2.0L. TFSI engines built within a specific period. Technical Service Bulletin Service Fitting Location (Criteria 8P and 8J) 1. Carefully pull off engine cover panel at positions 1, 2, 3, and then 4 one after the other (Figure 1). Tip: It is important to keep to this sequence; otherwise, the engine cover panel can be damaged. Figure 1. Technical Service Bulletin Fitting Location (Criteria 8E and 8H) 1. Carefully remove the engine cover panel off the retaining pins. Tip: Do not jerk the cover panel away, and do not try to pull on one side only. Figure 3. Technical Service Bulletin Checking and replacing Intake Manifold Flap Actuator (All Criteria) 1. Check part number of Intake Manifold Flap Actuator installed. • If part number of the actuator is 06F 133 482 or 06F 133 482 E, no further work is required. • If the actuator has a different part number, replace Intake Manifold Flap Actuator (Intake Manifold Flap Motor -V157- with Intake Manifold Flap Potentiometer -G336-) with part 06F 133 482 E. Required Customer Notification Inform your customer in writing by recording on the Repair Order any and all work that was conducted on the vehicle, including any and all updates completed under this Update.
