Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. There is the
possibility that locking rings that do not meet the required specifications were installed on the flange for
the fuel level sender on the affected vehicles due to a supplier error.
As a result, the locking ring may be difficult to remove as vehicles get older.

Required:
Replace locking ring on flange for fuel level sender.

vehicle. This campaign is scope specific to the VIN! Failure to verify in PIWIS may result in an improper
repair. This campaign affects 374 vehicles in North America.

Information
Watch out for escaping fuel when disconnecting fuel lines. Place a clean cloth around the connection
point, then loosen the connection.

Replace locking ring for fuel level sender
Information
Before loosening the locking ring, mark the installation position of the flange for the fuel level sender
using a touch-up stick.

Remove locking ring  Flange for fuel level sender
-1- and dispose of it.

Lift flange for fuel level sender  Flange for fuel level
sender -2- up slightly, remove sealing ring  Flange
for fuel level sender -3- on the fuel tank and replace it
with a new sealing ring (Part No. 991.201.733.01).

Insert flange for fuel level sender back into the fuel
tank and position it at the markings you applied
earlier.

Istall new locking ring (Part No. 991.201.623.00)
 Locking locking ring -1- on the flange for the fuel
level sender and lock the locking ring by turning it
clockwise using 9731/1 - lug wrench.
