SERVICE BULLETIN APPLICABILITY: 2012MY and Later Impreza Models with FB Engine 2011MY and Later Forester, N/A and Turbo Models NUMBER: 02-141-13 SUBJECT: Design Change to Rubber Sealing Cap for Oil Pressure Switch DATE: 05/28/13 SB-10052503-5220 INTRODUCTION This Bulletin provides information regarding a design change to the rubber cap which covers the electrical connection at the oil pressure switch. The new cap provides better sealing and resistance to moisture intrusion which can compromise the electrical connection and in some cases, cause the oil pressure warning lamp to illuminate in error. COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION The new rubber cap was incorporated into production during early December, 2012, starting with the following VINs: VEHICLE TYPE Impreza Forester MODEL STARTING VIN 4-Door D*017346 5-Door D*823167 All D*400124 PART INFORMATION PART NAME NEW PART NUMBER Cap-Terminal 22187AA080 Original (old style) cap 4 seal breaks have been added on the new cap as shown. Page 1 Be sure to follow the applicable procedure for tightening this electrical connection terminal as it varies by model. The seal must be installed as shown with no roll-up of any of the edges. SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION Follow the procedure in the applicable Service Manual if replacing the oil pressure switch. Be sure to follow the proper torque procedure for both the switch and the electrical connection where applicable as it varies by model. The rubber material used to make the cap is soft and pliable enough so the wire and terminal eyelet can be pushed through the “tube” portion easily. Use a little bit of dielectric grease on the terminal eyelet as a lubricant if necessary. Confirm the new rubber cap is installed as shown in the illustration above with no roll-up of the bottom sealing edges.
