1. If the “CVT to radiator” transmission cooler hose was detached from the radiator while
the vehicle was being driven:
•
•
Replace the CVT and then proceed to step 2.
If the “CVT to radiator” transmission cooler hose was not detached while driving,
do not replace the CVT and proceed to step 2.
NOTE: Refer to:
• The appropriate section of the ESM for the procedure to remove and reinstall the
CVT.
• Additional services for CVT replacement. “D: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE /
TM-Transaxle & Transmission / CVT: RE0F10E / BASIC INSPECTION /
ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY”.
2. Replace the radiator.
NOTE: Refer to the appropriate section
of the ESM for the procedure to remove
and reinstall the radiator.
3. Re-attach the engine coolant hoses to
the new radiator, and only the “auxiliary
cooler to radiator hose” (CVT Fluid
Cooler Hose C).
•
Leave the “transmission to radiator
cooler hose” loose at this time (CVT
Fluid Cooler Hose A/B Assembly,
Figure 1).
4. On the CVT, slide the “transmission to
radiator cooler hose” spring clamp back
onto the hose, away from the fitting, and
then remove the hose from the fitting
(Figure 2).
•
Disconnect the two hose support
clips to radiator fan shroud.
•
Discard this hose and related
clamps. They will be replaced with
the parts from the PARTS

from the Squeak and Rattle Kit (or Nissan brake cleaner 999MP-A3042P).
7. Install the new hose from the PARTS INFORMATION table onto the CVT and radiator
fittings and re-attach the two hose support clips to radiator fan shroud.
NOTE: Refer to “D: TRANSMISSION & DRIVELINE / TM-Transaxle & Transmission /
CVT: RE0F10E / REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION / CVT FLUID COOLER SYSTEM”
for correct positioning of cooler hoses onto fittings.
8. Position the spring clamps at the CVT and radiator cooler (Figures 5 and 6) as close to
the fitting bulge as possible, and then release them.
NOTE: Confirm that the clamps are not on top of the fitting bulge or on an angle.
