PRELIMINARY INFORMATION
Subject:
Bump on Launch, No Auxiliary Pump Pressure, DTC P2797 Set
Models:
2014 Chevrolet Malibu
Equipped with 6T40 Automatic Transmission (RPO MNH)
Condition/Concern
Some customers may comment that the vehicle has a hesitation, bump or jerking feel on launch. Technicians may
find a DTC P2797 set in history or active code.
Recommendation/Instructions
This condition may be caused by low or no auxiliary fluid pump pressure. Follow SI diagnostics for DTC P2797.
– Be sure to verify transmission fluid level and condition.
– The auxiliary fluid pump can be controlled with a scan tool by navigating to Engine Control Module (ECM) Scan
Tool Output Controls, Autostart/Autostop.
– Verify the line pressure is 145 kpa (21 psi) or greater when commanding the Autostart/Autostop ON with a scan
tool with the engine shut off.

If the auxiliary pump runs but produces no line pressure, the condition may be caused by a damaged Auxiliary Fluid
Inlet Pump Seal (item 371) shown in the illustration above. Inspect this seal for being damaged or torn.
