Cummins ISB and ISL Engine Calibration Revisions Causing Low Power Complaints and Setting
DTC 6525 in H 40/50 EP SystemsTM
MODELS AFFECTED:
H 40/50 EPTM Electric Drive with Cummins ISB and ISL Engines
Issue:
Cummins ISB and ISL engines with engine calibrations listed in Table 1 are experiencing low power complaints
and setting Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 6525 (Engine Failed to Crank). These conditions are due to software
changes resulting in the inadvertent shift of engine torque map points.

Action:
Cummins has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) to notify customers of a temporary solution. TSB 120125
states that if an engine is running one of the listed calibrations and displays the symptoms described above, it must
be recalibrated two revisions prior. The prior recalibration levels can be found on the Cummins February, 2012
InCalTM DVD. Release of new calibration versions with the appropriate ﬁx is forthcoming.
