The federal government issues CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) credits to vehicle ma nufactu rers that implement new technologies that reduce the carbon footprint of the veh icles they produce. GHG Logic technology wo rks by automatically operating the HVAC system in REC mode when certain conditions are met, improving the A/C system cool ing efficiency and reducing the vehicle 's C02 tailpipe emissions. RECOMMENDATIONS Because the HVAC system operates in REC more frequently, manually selecting FRESH mode prior to turning the engine OFF can help to minimize AC system odors that form while the vehicle is pa rked . By selecting FRESH , it allows natural circulation of the HVAC and passenger compartment with outside air, helping to reduce moisture inside the A/C System .
