Introduction
Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where there is a lack of cooling from the A/C system . An A/C
Line Retainer (Piping Clamp) may have become unlatched and caused a refrigerant leak. Follow the
procedure in this bulletin to address this condition .

• This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months
or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

Repair Procedure
1. Verify the condition as stated in the Introduction.
Figure 1. Location of the AJC Line Retainers (Piping Clamps)
• If the A/C Line Retainer is intact and latched, this bulletin does NOT apply. Continue
diagnosis using the applicable Repair Manual.
• If one or both of the A/C Line Retainers is missing or unlatched, proceed to step 2.
2. Recover the refrigerant following the Repair Manual instructions.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year Repair
Manual :
• 2011 I 2012 I 2013 Highlander:
Vehicle Interior- Heating/Air Conditioning - "Air Conditioning: Refrigerant: Replacement"
• 2011 I 2012 I 2013 Sequoia :
Vehicle Interior- Heating/Air Conditioning - "Air Conditioning: Refrigerant: Replacement"
• 2011 I 2012 I 2013 Sienna:

Repair Procedure (Continued)
3. If the A/C Line Retainer is still present but unlatched, remove it and replace it with a NEW A/C
Line Retainer.
4. If the A/C Line Retainer is missing , then install the NEW A/C Line Retainer.
5. Once the NEW A/C Line Retainer is installed, recharge the refrigerant following the Repair
Manual instructions.
