SUBJECT:
Exhaust Tip Contacting Hitch Causing Buzz, Squeak Or Rattle (BSR)
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing both left and right exhaust tips .

NOTE: This bulletin applies to SRT8 models only (sales code ESG) built between
April 9, 2012 (MOH 0409:XX) and August 6, 2012 (MOH 0806:XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a buzz, squeak or rattle (BSR) coming from the rear of the
vehicle over bumps.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other
customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

1.
Raise the vehicle on a suitable hoist. Refer to the detailed service procedures
available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info> 04- Vehicle
Quick Reference> Hoisting> Standard Procedure> Hoisting.
2. Remove the right and left side exhaust tips (1) from the vehicle by loosening the bolt
(2) on each of the exhaust clamps (Fig. 1).

Install the new exhaust tip P/N 05181770AB (1) on the left and right side muffler
outlets and snug the exhaust clamp bolts (2) so that the exhaust tip can still be
adjusted (Fig. 2).
4. Center the exhaust tip (1) in the rear fascia opening and tighten the exhaust clamp bolt
(2) using a torque wrench (3) to 22ft/lbs.(30NM)(Fig. 2).
