Technical Service Bulletin 46 TT RS Brake noise 46 12 25 2028811/2 September 26, 2012. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 46 number 12 – 21 dated February 29, 2012 for reasons listed below. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment TT RS 2012 – 2013 All Not Applicable Condition The customer may complain of a high pitch squeal or squeak from the brake system when braking at slow speeds. This only applies to vehicles with brake pads and discs that still have a significant life left. Technical Background Natural frequency of brake components - other than the brake pads and discs. Production Solution A service solution is being developed. Service 1. Verify the customer complaint matches the Condition described at the top of this TSB. Complaints not related to the Condition described in this TSB may require further diagnosis. 2. Explain to the customer that a solution is forthcoming and that no repairs are necessary at this point. Do not replace any components for this condition since this will not resolve customers concern. Tip: With careful consideration of the traffic situation, perform 2-3 ABS stops (e.g. from speeds above 50 MPH). Between each stop, please allow the brake components to cool.
