SECTION: 206-04A 'Squeal' Noise From Rear Brakes - 380mm Brake Discs AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE: F-TYPE (X152) Model Year: VIN: 2014 Onwards K00317 Onwards With: High Performance Brakes MARKETS: NAS CONDITION SUMMARY: Situation: A 'squeal' noise from the rear brakes may be evident at slow speed as the vehicle is coming to a stop. Cause: This may be caused by noise generated from the contact points of the brake caliper and pads. Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below. PARTS: C2C39930 Grease Sachet Quantity: 1 TOOLS: No Tools Required WARRANTY: NOTE: Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to TOPIx to obtain the latest repair time. NOTE: DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero. DESCRIPTION SRO TIME (HOURS) CONDITION CODE CAUSAL PART Rear brake caliper set - Apply grease 70.55.08 1.1 42 T2R12793 NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply. SERVICE INSTRUCTION: NOTE: The following steps must be completed on both sides of the vehicle. 1. Remove the rear left-hand brake pads (see TOPIx Workshop Manual Section 206-04A: Rear Disc Brake Vehicles Without: Carbon Ceramic Brakes - Brake Pads). http://topix.jaguar.jlrint.com/topix/service/document/511515 12/9/2014 Page 2 of 3 2. NOTE: Do not apply excessive amounts of grease to the areas shown. Using a suitable brake cleaner, clean the rear surface of the brake pads and apply the supplied grease to the areas shown. 3. Using a suitable brake cleaner, clean the brake caliper piston and apply the supplied grease in the area shown. 4. Install the rear left-hand brake pads (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 206-04A: Rear Disc Brake Vehicles Without: Carbon Ceramic Brakes - Brake Pads). 6.
