Condition
Some customers may comment that the driver or
passenger front side door window becomes jammed
and cannot be raised above half way.
Replace the window front run channel on the affected
door, and add the GM service part foam spacer (noted
in the part table below) to BOTH front doors, following
the steps below:
Cause
The cause of this condition may be the front edge of the
door glass has become dislodged from the front
window run channel and seal. This usually occurs when
the front door has been slammed with the window in the
fully lowered position.
Correction
Note: Once the glass has become dislodged from the
front window run channel and seal, the channel (metal)
will likely be distorted, requiring replacement. The seal
normally does not require replacing.

1. Remove the front window run channel (1) on the
affected door. Refer to Front Side Door Window
Front Channel and Rear Channel Replacement

rearward in the door to bias the bolt rearward in the
hole. Once positioned, tighten the bolt.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
