Condition
While driving, the customer can hear squeaks or rattles coming from the area of the A-pillar.
Technical Background
The openings in the reinforcement panel of the A-pillar structure are slightly off-center from the carrier plate. As a
result, squeaking or rattling noises occur because the mounting clips for the A-pillar trim are either not fully
engaged in the openings, or they are engaged and are unnecessarily tight against the edges of openings.
Production Solution
The A-pillar structure has been corrected in production.
Service
1. Apply sections of fleece adhesive tape (D
373125A2) to the mounting areas of the A-pillar
trim, as shown at right (Figure 1).

2. Install the A-pillar trim, ensuring that the clips are not damaged and that each one is fully engaged in the
opening of the A-pillar structure.
3. Perform this repair to the A-pillar trim on both sides.
