Audi is extending the New Vehicle Limited Warranty to 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the
vehicle’s original in-service date for certain MY2002 through MY2006 A4 and A6 vehicles equipped with a factoryinstalled CVT transmission. The extension is applicable to and covers only the diagnosis and repair or replacement of
specific CVT transmission parts detailed in this Bulletin. The original in-service date is defined as the date the vehicle
was delivered to either the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a
demonstrator, company care, or service loaner, the date such vehicle was first placed in service. The warranty
extension is transferrable to subsequent owners.
Audi is notifying authorized dealers regarding the extended warranty with this Warranty Bulletin.
What is covered under this Warranty Extension
This limited warranty extension covers only the diagnosis and repair or replacement, by an authorized Audi
Dealer, of the following CVT transmission part(s)
a. The Transmission Control Module (TCM) of the CVT transmission of a 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006 model year Audi
A4 or Audi A6 with a CVT transmission;
b. The Valve Body of the CVT transmission of a 2003 or 2004 model year Audi A4 or Audi A6 Vehicle; and
c. The Transmission without the Valve Body and TCM of a CVT transmission of a 2002, 2003 or 2004 model year
Audi A4 or Audi A6 Vehicle, provided the customer submits to the Audi dealer, documents (such as maintenance or
repair records) showing that they have complied with all of the transmission maintenance requirements set forth in the
vehicle’s Owner’s Manual. If such documents cannot be located or obtained from the dealer or repair facility that
performed the transmission maintenance after the customer has made a good faith attempt to locate/obtain them, the
customer may instead submit to the dealer, when they bring their vehicle in for repair, a signed declaration under
penalty of perjury, in the form available on the settlement website, www.CVTSettlement.com.
To obtain repair or replacement under this extended warranty, the vehicle must be brought to an authorized Audi
Dealer. The extended warranty is subject to the same terms and conditions of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
Only the documents required in “c” above, or any document required by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty
for this type of repair or replacement need to be produced by the customer.
The extended warranty provided to settlement class members is available immediately.
What is not covered under this Warranty Extension
This warranty extension will not cover any damage or malfunctions caused by outside influence, such as damage
resulting from abuse, alteration or modification, a collision or crash, vandalism and/or other impact, or any conditions
unrelated to the designated CVT transmission.
