Service Exhaust Fluid System Message Displayed With DTCs P203D P21AB Or P21B0
Models:
2010-2011 Chevrolet Express, Silverado
2010-2011 GMC Savana, Sierra
Equipped with 6.6L Diesel Engine RPO codes LML or LGH

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern
A dealer may encounter a customer concern of a “Service Exhaust Fluid System” and a “See Owner’s Manual Now”
message displayed on the IPC. During diagnosis a technician may notice Reductant Level Sensor DTCs P203D,
P21AB, and P21B0 have set.
Recommendation/Instructions
Complete the current SI diagnostic for any DTCS or symptoms found. Inspect all related reductant level sensor
wiring, connectors, and terminal pin tensions. This inspection should be completed even if the codes are in history
and cannot be duplicated.
If no wiring concerns are found replace the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) tank assembly. Use the current part number
listed in the parts catalogue.
Note: Do not disassemble the DEF tank assembly. Engineering will be requesting the tanks back for inspection.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is
resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
