Tech Tips Date: July 5, 2013 TT 57-13-04 2002-2006 New Beetle, 2003-2005 New Beetle Convertible Equipped with Immobilizer III – ODIS Key Adaptation Tip When adapting keys using ODIS, an error message may be displayed once the test plan directs to cycle the key off. If error is displayed, this does not necessarily indicate key adaptation has failed. If the immobilizer light turns off (instead of flashes) when key is switched on, key adaptation is in process. Continue to cycle remaining keys through ignition and then wait 2 minutes with the key off after adapting the last key. After 2 minutes have elapsed, evaluate vehicle operation with all keys, waiting 2 minutes with ignition off between each key. Page 1 of 1 ver1.2 © 2013 Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
