Condition/Concern
Some customers may comment on a crackling/static type noise coming from one or both door speakers and/or
A-pillar tweeters. The condition may occur intermittently while driving and/or stop while the vehicle is not in motion.
This condition may be caused by poor retention at the amplifier X2 connector.
Recommendation/Instructions
A new connector that provides better retention is available. Replace the amplifier X2 connector and terminals. The
terminals will be replaced using terminated leads. When replacing, stagger the lengths of the terminated leads to
reduce the bundle size and wrap with electrical tape. The length for pins 13 through 16 should not be longer than 80
mm (3.14 in).
Tip: Wiggling the X2 connector, while the audio is on, may induce the condition.
