File in Section: Service Bulletin Bulletin No.: Date: PIC4786B December, 2012 PRELIMINARY INFORMATION Subject: Remote Vehicle Start Memory Recall Inoperative Models: 2005 - 2011 Cadillac STS This PI was superseded to update model years. Please discard PIC4786A. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern A customer may comment that the Remote Vehicle Start (RVS) is inoperative. The cause may be the keyless transmitter was programmed as FOB 3 or 4. This may be the result of a failure to correctly program a replacement transmitter. Note: The vehicles listed above are capable of recognizing up to four transmitters, but transmitters programmed as FOB 3 or 4 are not supported with driver personalization or RVS. Recommendation/Instructions 1. Ensure that the transmitter in question is not programmed as FOB 3 or 4 by identifying the FOB # with the scan tool. (Remote Control Door Lock Receiver ″Data Display″ Remote Control Door Lock Receiver ″Key FOB Information”). 2. If the transmitter in question is programmed as FOB 3 or 4 it is necessary to program the transmitter as FOB 1 or 2 using the Transmitter Programming repair instructions listed in SI. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
