File in Section: Service Bulletin Bulletin No.: Date: PIT5181 September, 2012 PRELIMINARY INFORMATION Subject: SES MIL With P057C And/Or P057D Service Stability Message With DTCs C0161 C0277 (Check X205 Connector) Models: 2012 - 2013 Cadillac Escalade Models 2012 - 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe 2012 - 2013 GMC Sierra, Yukon Models The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern If no resolution is found after performing normal diagnostics for any issues related to the BPP (Brake Pedal Position) sensor, inspect connector X205 for a terminal concern. This connector is located under the left side of the I/P defrost deflector - as reflected in "I/P Harness Routing - Passenger Compartment" illustration of Service Information. Below is a list of some symptoms an owner may experience if there is a BPP concern: 1. SES MIL with a P057C and/or P057D 2. Cruise or brake light issues with a C0277 3. Service Stability Message with a C0161 4. Reduced engine power with NO DTCs (Brake Pedal Override) 5. Unwanted Grade Braking Recommendation/Instructions Inspect X205 for loose, backed out, and bent, etc. terminals using the appropriate terminal test probe, per SI Connector End View. Repair as needed. Warranty Information For vehicles repaired under warranty, please use the appropriate warranty labor operation based on the actual cause and repair. The latest version of bulletin 10-00-89-005A: "Warranty Administration - Revised Wiring Repair Labor Operations and Required Additional Information" can use as a reference. Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
