The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern
Customers may comment that the transmission makes a squawk or grunt type noise when shifting from 2nd to
3rd gear.
Recommendation/Instructions
The 3-4 clutch Friction (654A) and Steel (654B) Clutch Plates along with the Apply Plate (653) and Selective
Backing Plate (655) should be replaced.
