File in Section: Service Bulletin Bulletin No.: Date: PIC3529E June, 2013 PRELIMINARY INFORMATION Subject: Dry Rubber Crunch Noise In The Front Suspension Over Bumps Models: 2004-2011 Chevrolet Aveo 2004-2011 Chevrolet Epica 2004-2011 Chevrolet Optra (Canada Only) 2005-2010 Pontiac Wave (Canada Only) This PI was superseded to update model years and subject line. Please discard PIC3529D. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern A crunch (dry rubber sound / noise) may be heard from the front suspension over bumps when driving. This noise may be caused from a binding condition in the front lower control arm bushings. Recommendation/Instructions Loosen both the front (horizontal) and rear (vertical) front control arm attachment bolts on one side. Make sure you have the front control arms supporting the vehicle weight and then re-torque the control arm bolts to factory spec’s 110 N·m (81 lb ft). Notice: Perform the same operation on the opposite side Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
