SECTION: 501-12 Glove Compartment Lid Not Damped When Opening AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE: XK Range (X150) Model Year: 2007-2013 VIN: B00001-B51978 MARKETS: NAS CONDITION SUMMARY: Situation: The glove compartment lid may not be damped when opening. Cause: This may be caused by the glove compartment lid damper cord retaining tab coming away from the glove compartment housing. Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below. PARTS: NOTE: The cotter / split pin (2mm x approx 30mm) must be locally sourced. - 2mm X 30mm cotter / split pin Quantity: 1 (locally sourced) TOOLS: No Tools Required WARRANTY: NOTE: Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to TOPIx to obtain the latest repair time. NOTE: DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero. SERVICE INSTRUCTION: http://topix.jaguar.jlrint.com/topix/service/document/438326 9/11/2013 Page 2 of 2 1. Remove the glove compartment (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, Section 501-12). 2. Using a suitable 2mm drill, drill a hole (shown in the shaded area) through the glove compartment damper arm. 3. Install the glove compartment lid damper cord looped end into the damper arm ('1'). Install the cotter / split pin into the drilled hole and through the damper cord looped end ('2'). 4. Fold the protruding ends of the cotter / split pin. 5.
