CUTAWAY - CARGO BOX COURTESY LAMP REMAINS ILLUMINATED WITH SWITCH OFF - BUILT ON 10/1/2015 AND THROUGH 2/26/2016 TSB 16-0091 FORD: 2016 E-350, E-450 ISSUE Some 2016 E-Series cutaway vehicles built on 10/1/2015 and through 2/26/2016 may exhibit a cargo box courtesy lamp which remains illuminated with the switch in the off position due to a wiring harness concern. ACTION Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove the driver front door scuff plate. Lift up to remove the driver front door scuff plate. 2. Locate harness part number tag. Does the harness part number tag read DC2S-14405-DE? (Figure 1A) Figure 1 - Article 16-0091 a. Yes - proceed to Step 3. b. No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 417-02 for normal diagnostics. 3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to WSM, Section 414-01. 4. Expose the wires and locate the two YE-GN wires. (Figure 1) 5. Cut one of the two YE-GN wires. 6. Check for continuity between the wire routed toward the front of the vehicle (Figure 1B) and C432 pin 7 YE-GN located at the rear of vehicle. (Figure 2) Does the wire have continuity? No - the wire cut was the incorrect circuit. Splice the two wires back together. Proceed to Step 7. (1) Refer to the wiring repair procedures outlined in Cell 5 of the Wiring Diagram. 7. Cut the second YE-GN wire. The wire routed toward the front of the vehicle (Figure 1B) and connector C432 at the rear of the vehicle will have continuity. (Figure 2) Proceed to Step 8. 8. Splice this YE-GN wire routed toward the front of the vehicle into the GY-VT wire in the same harness. (Figure 1) 9. Seal the remaining open end of YE-GN wire routed toward the rear of the vehicle (Figure 1C), tape the wires back into the harness and place them back into the wire channel. 10. Install the driver front door scuff plate. 11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to WSM Section 414-01.
