Date Group No. Release Page 7.2014 386 847 02 1(10) Fuel Management Module, Replacement CXU w/LNG PI0847, Fuel Management Module, Replacement (July 2014) On certain Mack LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) models, built between 08/01/2013 and 05/09/2014, the low fuel warning may come on too early. In addition the fuel gauge may show full if the fuel level sensor signal becomes open. This is due to the fact that the software in the fuel management module (FMM) did not have the correct calibration and open circuit fault criteria. To correct this issue follow the procedure below: Required Parts Quantity Part Number 1 85142764 Description Control Unit LNG Fuel Levels Repair You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information, group 3, “General Safety Practices, Electrical” before performing this procedure. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your supervisor for training before you perform it. Rail Mounted FMM 1 Secure the vehicle for service by parking it on a flat level surface, applying the parking brake, chocking the rear wheel, and placing the transmission in neutral. Ensure the vehicle is in a well ventilated area. 2b. Turn the Manual Fuel System valve (red knob) to Closed on both tanks (if applicable). W3091875 1. Shut-off Valve W3091529 1. Shut-off Valve 2c. Start the vehicle and run the engine until it stops. 2d. Remove ignition key. Note: This will ensure the vehicle is off and proper vehicle lock-out procedures have been followed. If a label is not already affixed inside the cab, apply a label (part No. TS897) and supply the information as required.
