Greensboro, NC USA Field Service Bulletin Trucks Date Group No. Release Page 11.2014 364 038 01 1(3) Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU), Reprogramming Fifth Wheel Slide CHU, CXU, GU, TD FSB 364-038, Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU), Reprogramming Fifth Wheel Slide (November 2014) Certain MACK CHU, CXU, GU, and TD trucks equipped with an air slide fifth wheel, and built 08/18/2014 through 11/07/2014, may display a “Fifth Wheel Slide Fault” message in the instrument cluster when the vehicle shuts OFF during Idle Shutdown. This condition is due to a parameter programming issue. The procedure outlined in this Field Service Bulletin (FSB) will reset the parameter correctly. However, key components addressed in this information are represented as accurately as possible. 1 Park the vehicle on a flat and level surface. 2 Apply the parking brake. 3 Place the transmission in neutral or park. 4 Install the wheel chocks. W7086748 5 Using Premium Tech Tool (PTT), run Accessory kit 85143650. 6 Reprogram the Vehicle Electronic Control Unit (VECU) MID 144. 7 Verify proper operation after reprogramming is complete. 8 Remove the wheel chocks.
