This bulletin supersedes information bulletin IB15-J-002. This bulletin is being revised to
update Model Years. Please discard previous bulletin IB15-J-002.
INFORMATION
A new Isuzu oil filter is now available for 2011MY and newer Isuzu N-Series vehicles equipped
with 4HK1 diesel engines. The new oil filter’s bypass valve pressure has been changed to
improve filtration in cold weather. As a result it is necessary for dealers to inventory this new oil
filter cartridges for the affected model years (see Figure 1).
IMPORTANT: DO NOT install newer oil filters on older vehicles (2010MY and older), as it
will result in turbocharger damage due to oil starvation of the turbocharger shaft
bearings during cold weather conditions. Be sure to confirm correct oil filter application
prior to installation.
