Issue
This document describes an issue where inactive fault codes are present in the engine control
module (ECM) after a calibration download. The MIL may also be illuminated.

Inactive fault codes are present in the ECM after a calibration download.
The MIL is illuminated after a calibration download and there are no active fault codes.
Resolution
If inactive fault codes are present in the ECM and/or the MIL is illuminated after a calibration
download, use the “Reset All Faults” command in INSITE™ electronic service tool and power-

down the ECM for 70 seconds.
NOTE: The “Reset Inactive Faults” command in INSITE™ electronic service tool can not
be used on On-Board Diagnostics products.
Troubleshoot any remaining active fault codes in the ECM after performing the “Reset All
Faults” command in INSITE™ electronic service tool and the 70 second power-down has been
performed.
