EDITOR’S NOTE: This article replaces the one posted in July 2016.
When you start up the vehicle, the navigation system can take from 5─30 seconds to find its location on the map.
Sometimes the system won’t locate it until the vehicle starts to move.
The reason this happens is the delay of the GPS antenna data being sent to the Garmin application. If it’s longer than
expected, that data may not be processed in the normal process flow, which causes the extended delay.
To address this issue, replace the audio-navigation unit. Remanufactured units have been updated. We’ll be releasing a
software update along with a service bulletin this coming October.
