Refer to page 2 for the Washable Filter Cleaning Procedure. Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/2 Washable Filter Cleaning Procedure NOTE: Recommended cleaning interval is every 2 months or 15,000 miles (whichever is shorter). 1. Remove the cover from the HVAC filter. 2. Remove filter (remove carefully, do not damage the filter). 3. Carefully shake the filter to remove most of the dust. Shake gently with both hands. Rough handling (shaking with a lot of force) could damage the filter. 4. Hold the filter face down (see Figure 1). With fingers, carefully open the filter plates allowing dust to fall out. Figure 1 5. Using water in a bucket, wash the filter. Carefully use your fingers to open the filter plates allowing the water to wash out the dust. Rough handling (washing with a lot of force) could damage the filter. 6. Dry the filter with a hair dryer, until it is completely dry. Figure 2 DO NOT use shop air pressure to dry the filter. High air pressure will damage the filter. 7. Reinstall the filter in reverse order. 2/2 NTB16-072
