MY2016 Titan XD (Gas Only)
Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emission Service Campaign on approximately 1,044 model year
2016 Nissan Titan XD (gasoline only) vehicles. Nissan has discovered that model year 2016
Warranty Information Booklet contains inaccurate information related to the Federal Emission
Performance and Defect Warranty Coverage details. The vehicles’ Emission Performance and Defect
warranties were incorrectly listed and should have been listed as 5 years / 50,000 miles. The
vehicles’ Federal and California Emission Long Term Defect warranties remain unchanged. Vehicle
safety, fuel economy, drivability and performance are not affected.
To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emission Service Campaign to provide a
warranty addendum sticker that contains the most current emission warranty information to owners
and dealers with affected inventory.
***** What Dealers Should Do *****
1. Nissan asks Dealers to place the warranty addendum sticker behind the front cover of the
original Warranty Information Booklet that came with the vehicle on any affected vehicles in
dealer inventory.
2. If an affected vehicle has been retailed by the time the warranty addendum sticker arrives,
dealers are asked to forward the letter and warranty addendum sticker to the customer.
SERVICE COMM will not be active for this campaign. A list of affected vehicles in dealer inventory
subject to this voluntary emissions service campaign is included with this announcement.
***** Release Schedule *****
Owner Notification

Nissan will begin mailing Owner Letters with warranty

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Q.
Is this a safety recall?
A.
No.
Q.
How do I identify an affected vehicle in SERVICE COMM?
A.
This service campaign will not be active in SERVICE COMM. An official letter and addendum
sticker are being sent to all affected dealers and owners. The letters are VIN specific to assist
dealers in identifying affected vehicles. Dealers may also use the VIN list that accompanies
this announcement.
Q.
What is the reason for this warranty addendum sticker notification?
A.
Nissan has discovered that model year 2016 Warranty Information Booklet contains
inaccurate information related to the Federal Emission Performance and Defect Warranty
Coverage details. The vehicles’ Emission Performance and Defect warranties were incorrectly
listed and should have been listed as 5 years / 50,000 miles. The vehicles’ Federal and
California Emission Long Term Defect warranties remain unchanged. Vehicle safety, fuel
economy, drivability and performance are not affected. The warranty addendum sticker will
provide the most up-to-date emission warranty information.
Q.
What is the possible effect of the condition?
A.
If the vehicle is not equipped with the most up-to-date emission warranty information, it may
be difficult for the customer to clearly understand what is covered under this warranty and
for how long. Please note that the information contained on the warranty addendum sticker
is only for the customer’s understanding, and DOES NOT affect how a dealer would apply
emission warranty coverage during a service appointment.
Q.
What will be the corrective action for this voluntary service campaign?
A.
Nissan will mail an emission warranty addendum sticker with the most current warranty
information. Owners should store this sticker in a safe place for their records, preferably
placed behind the front cover of the original Warranty Information Booklet that came with the
vehicle.
Q.
When will vehicle owners be notified?
A.
Nissan will begin notifying vehicle owners in August 2016, via U.S. mail.
Q.
Is there any charge for the new Warranty Addendum Sticker?
A.
There is no repair associated with this campaign, it is only a mailing to provide updated
warranty information. This action is offered free to the customer.

Q.
What model year Titan vehicles are involved?
A.
Approximately 1044 Nissan Titan XD (gasoline only) vehicles in Canada, the United States,
and territories are affected.
Q.
I have a 2016 Titan XD (gasoline only) vehicle but did not receive a letter, how can
I tell if my vehicle is affected?
A.
Please give me your vehicle identification number (VIN) so that I can check if your vehicle is
affected in this campaign.
Q.
Are you experiencing this condition on any other Nissan (or Infiniti) models?
A.
No
Q.
Does this campaign affect Titan XD (gasoline only) vehicles sold in Canada?
A.
Yes.
Q.
Can this campaign be performed on U.S. vehicles that are being operated in Foreign
Countries (Overseas)?

warranty are listed below under the caption “WHAT IS
NOT COVERED UNDER EITHER THE DEFECTS OR

EMISSIONS PERFORMANCE WARRANTY
WHEN DOES THIS WARRANTY APPLY
The Emission Performance warranty applies to your
2016 Nissan vehicle ONLY when both of the following
occur.

you, such as a monetary fine or the denial of the
right to use your vehicle, under local, state or
federal law.
For example, if your state requires an EPA approved
yearly vehicle inspection before you receive a renewed
license, this warranty applies to your vehicle. In areas
where there is no approved test program, this warranty
does not apply.
WHAT IS COVERED AND FOR HOW
