GENERAL MANAGER q PARTS MANAGER q q SERVICE BULLETIN APPLICABILITY: SUBJECT: NUMBER: 09-61-15 2015-16MY Legacy and Outback Models DATE: 11/24/15 Design Change to the Fuel Filler Door Assembly INTRODUCTION This bulletin announces a design change to the fuel filler door (saucer) assembly to address customer concerns of it being difficult to open and / or close. The striker portion’s shape has been changed as shown in the cross-section illustration below along with the type of plastic material used in the construction of the saucer assembly. IMPORTANT: This bulletin replaces TSB 09-60-15R dated 10/26/15. PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION: The new saucer assembly was incorporated into production during August, 2015 starting with the following VINs: Legacy: G005915 and Outback: G208318. Page 1 SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION If a complaint of the fuel filler door being hard to open or close is confirmed, replace the saucer assembly using the applicable parts listed above following the procedure in the applicable Service Manual. NOTE: The new plastic lock ring (seal) shown below must be replaced also as it is a one-time use part. • NEVER attempt to re-use a previously installed part. • ALWAYS take precautions to protect the vehicle finish when removing / installing the assembly.
