2016 Golf, GTI or Golf R with Composition Media Infotainment
System – “Park Pilot Not Available” Message on Radio. Rear
View Camera May also be Inoperable
On vehicles with a “Park Pilot Not Available” message displayed on the radio screen at times (this
message appears due to a loss of video signal and is not a coding issue), first verify the connections at the
radio (pins 6 and 12 of the blue quad lock connector) and at the camera are secure and have good pin
tension.
If there are no connection issues and the radio software level is at 0613, the first step of the 91N9 Update
should be repeated:
1. Insert the SD card from the 91N9 Update, P/N: SW0613UD, into the 5F module SD card reader
located in the glove box.
2. Select “Setup” on the touch screen main menu.
3. Select “System Information” on the touch screen menu.
4. Select “Update Software” on the bottom of the touch screen menu.
5. A screen displaying “Available data: ALPS_BT Version 0001 should appear. Select “Next” at the
bottom of this screen.
6. The “Device not ready” screen will be displayed temporarily.
7. After this screen is displayed, the Infotainment system will reboot and return to the normal
operating mode.
8. If the unit does not restart within 2 minutes, turn the unit ON using the ON/OFF button (volume
knob).
9. With the scan tool, select the Special Functions tab, select the Control Module Software
Configuration test plan and perform this test plan for address word 5F.
10. Test operation of the rear view camera by putting car into reverse several times.
