Code VIN Range From VIN Range To Jetta Hybrid 2013-2016 1.4L All All All (CNLA) Condition 30 16 01 September 14, 2016 2045266 Transmission Clutch Noise from the Engine Area during High Load Gear Changes Customer states under high load gear changes, a groan/moan noise can be heard from the transmission. Technical Background Harmonic noise from the transmission internals can resonate through the dual clutch assembly during high load gear changes. Production Solution Improved clutch assembly to reduce harmonic noise starting with June 1st 2016 transmission production. Service Note: Obey all local traffic laws and speed limits. Procedure: Road test the vehicle in a sporty manner to try and duplicate the noise. The noise will usually happen with the transmission at a warm/hot temperature and during gear changes (2nd to 3rd/3rd to 4th) when the engine is at full throttle with e-machine operating (Boost mode). Tip: For an example of the noise, please contact the Volkswagen Technician Helpline for a sample video. If the noise is duplicated, per the repair manual instructions, replace the dual clutch with Part Number 0AM 198 142. Page 1 of 3 © 2016 Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. All rights reserved.
