Issue:
X260 Boot spring detaching from Body In White bracket and / or spigot bracket
Cause:
Tolerance between fulcrum points on components
Action:
If you have a X260 where the boot spring has detached, please order replacement
assistance springs and spigot / ball fixing brackets located on the swan neck
assemblies and replace both sides regardless of which has failed.
In addition, please check the integrity and condition of the Body In White bracket on
both sides for any damage and re-work / rectify to bring them to the acceptable
condition, particularly the profiling and alignment, as shown on the attachment - before
installing new components.
