Cause: This may be caused by a software issue with the Remote Function Actuator (RFA). Action: Should a customer express this concern, refer to the Service Instruction outlined below. PARTS: No Parts Required TOOLS: NOTE: this Active Bulletin will display a functional programming shortcut if accessed within a diagnostic session using the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool with latest DVD and Calibration File. DESCRIPTION SRO TIME (HOURS) CONDITION CODE CAUSAL PART Configure Remote Function Actuator 86.99.64 0.2 42 C2D44410 NOTE: Normal Warranty procedures apply. SERVICE INSTRUCTION: CAUTION: a Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis / module programming. CAUTION: ensure all ignition ON/OFF requests are carried out; failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle. NOTE: the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool must be loaded with DVD144.00 v.222 or later. 1Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply to the vehicle battery. NOTE: the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) may also be referred to as the Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM). 2Turn ignition ON (engine not running). 3Connect the Jaguar Land Rover-approved diagnostic tool to the vehicle and begin a new session. 4Follow the on-screen prompts, allowing the diagnostic tool to read the VIN and identify the vehicle and initiating the data collect sequence. 5Select Diagnosis from the Session Type screen. 6Select the Selected Symptoms tab and then select: • Body > Security and Locking > Handles, locks and latches 7Select continue. 8Select the Recommendations tab and then select Run to perform the Configure existing module Keyless vehicle module option. 9Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task, ensuring all diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) are cleared. http://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/616288 2/1/2016 Page 3 of 3 10Exit the current session. 11Disconnect the diagnostic tool and battery power supply from the vehicle. http://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/service/document/616288 2/1/2016
