Issue
Customers are unable to charge accessories or play music using the USB port on Gen
2.1 infotainment system.
Cause
DTC B1252-19 Has been triggered by the over draw of current through the USB port
which disables the User Interface Panel (UIP) until the next Ignition cycle and the
accessory that is causing the over draw is removed.
Action
Due to the use of devices which exceed the specific requirements outlined in the
owner’s manual the UIP has caused a temporary shutdown to protect both the users
interface and the vehicle wiring system from further damage.
There is NO reason to replace the UIP in question as an engine recycle will recover the
UIP and allow connectivity of interfaces that are recognised as applicable through the
USB connection.
Should and engine recycle NOT recover the UIP and allow connectivity then further
investigation is required but it is not advised to connect appliances to this until the fault
has been rectified.
