3.
Male Side
Insert the male side of the stopper button from the back
side of the webbing at the location of the original
stopper button. Install the female side of the stopper
button from the opposite side of the webbing as
shown.
If the original stopper button location cannot be
determined, use the location outlined in step 4 below.
4.
If the original location of the seat belt stopper button
cannot be determined, locate the position as follows:
•
Driver side: Approximately 25.75 inches (655 mm)
above the stitching point where the belt folds back
onto itself.
•
Passenger side: Approximately 21.25 inches (540
mm) above the stitching point where the belt folds
back onto itself.
•
Mark this location along the centerline of the seat
belt webbing.

5.
Squeeze the button using a small "C" clamp
{approximately 1.5-inch span) to complete the
installation.
Be careful NOT to bend the spike when squeezing
the 2 parts together. A click should be felt when the
2 button parts snap together.
IMPORTANT: The clamp must flatten the spike of
the male side of the button.
Make sure the surface is smooth after the spike is
snapped off, and there is no gap between the belt
webbing and both button parts.
I& CAUTION
I
Take care to prevent damage to, or soiling of, the seat belt or other interior
trim parts.
6.
Confirm that the seat belt stopper button is securely
installed. The combined thickness of both stopper
button parts after installation should be between
6.5 - 7.2 mm.
7.
Remove the tape securing the seat belt tongue.
8.
Move the seat position as far rearward as possible.

9.
With no one seated, fasten the seat belt. Confirm that the lap portion of the belt has no slack.
Unfasten the seat belt and confirm that the stopper prevents the tongue from sliding down.
If there is any slack in the lap portion of the seat belt:
•
Remove the stopper button.
•
Confirm the location of the original stopper button or step 4 description.
•
Repeat steps 3 - 9 with a new stopper button, moving the stopper location if necessary, to achieve
a no slack condition.
