Stop Sale/Emissions Recall: 2017 HR-V PGM-FI/ECU Software Update
Today, November 10, 2016, American Honda is notifying all dealers of a Stop Sale and Emissions Recall for 2017 HR-V
vehicles due to emissions regulations. Any new or used units in dealer stock must be inspected and, if necessary,
repaired prior to sale. At this time complete repair information is unavailable. Refer to VIN inquiry to determine which
units in your inventory are affected by this emissions recall.
Note: Some vehicles affected by this campaign may be in your new or used vehicle inventory. Failure to inspect and, if
needed repair, a vehicle subject to a recall or campaign may subject your dealership to claims or lawsuits from the
customer or anyone else harmed as a result of such failure. In addition, state law may provide American Honda with the
right to seek indemnification in any such claim or lawsuit.
As of Thursday, November 10th, a place holder Service Bulletin 16-103 Emissions Recall: 2017 HR-V Primary Converter
and AF Sensor Deterioration has been posted on SIS. We will notify you of the revised bulletin once complete repair
procedure are made available.
As always, please be sure to check VIN status inquiry to determine if this or any open campaigns applies to a particular
vehicle.
