Warranty Extension: 2016 Pilot Odometer Gauge Control Module - Odometer Mileage
Today, December 16, 2015, American Honda is announcing a warranty extension for certain 2016 Pilot vehicles affected
by service bulletins 15-073 and 15-074. Please check VIN status inquiry to determine if a vehicle is eligible for the
extension.
Service bulletin 15-073, Non-Compliance Recall: Gauge Control Module - FCAN BUS OFF / Product Update: Gauge
Control Module - Odometer Mileage / Gauge Control Module - Auto Door Lock Settings Resets, covers vehicles eligible
for the FCAN Bus Off non-compliance concern. A subset of vehicles affected by this non-compliance recall are also
affected by the gauge control module odometer problem and are eligible for warranty extension coverage to
compensate for the additional miles potentially accrued due to the error.
Service bulletin 15-074, Product Update: Gauge Control Module - Odometer Mileage and the HDS Does Not
Communicate, covers vehicles eligible for the HDS communication issue. A subset of vehicles affected by this product
update are also affected by the gauge control module odometer problem and are eligible for warranty extension
coverage to compensate for the additional miles potentially accrued due to the error.
The new service bulletin, 15-075, Warranty Extension: 2016 Pilot Vehicle Warranty Mileage, covers those VINs within
the 15-073 and 15-074 ranges affected by the gauge control module odometer problem, extending the vehicle's
warranty coverage by an additional 12,000 miles to compensate for any potential excess mileage accrued due to the
error.
American Honda expects to notify customers of this warranty extension by early January, 2016.
