Product Update: 2016 Pilot Gauge Assembly Communication Failure
Today, November 5, 2015, American Honda is announcing a product update for 7,537 2016 Pilot vehicles to update the
gauge control module software.
Basic Problem
Due to a software error, the gauge control module may lose communication with the HDS, or the odometer mileage may
increase when the OFF mode is selected.
The Repair
Update gauge control module with improved software.
Service Bulletin
Service bulletins 15-074, Product Update: Gauge Control Module - Odometer Mileage the HDS Does Not Communicate,
has been posted to the Service Information System today in support of this campaign. It includes software, warranty and
update information related to this product update.
Software Information
HDS Software Version:
3.016.042 or later
Control Module (CM) Update:
Application Version V3.01.42 or later
Database Update 02-Oct-2015 or later
Parts Information
This is a software-only campaign; there are no associated parts.
Client Notification
American Honda expects to notify owners of affected vehicles in December 2015.
