CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may be illuminated and Diagnostic Trouble Code
(DTC) P007B-00 stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM) with no other vehicle symptoms present.
Cause: This may be caused by a charge air coolant pump compatibility issue.
Action: Should a customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below.

SERVICE INSTRUCTION:
1. Raise the vehicle (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 100-02).
2. Remove the engine undershield (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-02).
3. Locate the charge air coolant pump (see TOPIx
Workshop Manual, section 303-03) and release
the electrical connector C1E318 from the
coolant pump.

NOTE: refer to TOPIx Workshop
Manual, section 418-02: Wiring Harness,
for guidance when carrying out harness
repairs.
Remove the electrical tape as illustrated from
the end of the outer harness and remove the
inner electrical wiring harness.
5. Release the anti-backout bar from the electrical
connector C1E318.

6. Remove the blanking plug in cavity 2 and install
the new link lead (LR073619) into cavity 2 of
the electrical connector C1E318.
• Make sure the waterproof seal is fully
installed.
7. Install the anti-back out bar to the electrical
connector C1E318.

8. Using a suitable wire cutter, cut the black wire
(located in cavity 1) at 90mm from connector
C1EW318.
• Position the new link lead alongside the
black wire in cavity 1 and cut to the same
length as the black wire.
9. Use the wire sheath removal tool 418-117A to
remove 10 mm of insulation from the end of the
black wire and the new link lead going to
connector C1EW318.
• Rotate the exposed inner wires of the two
cables together.

10. Use the supplied butt connector and the
crimping tool 418-116A, join the two wires in a
crimp joint.
• Position the glue-lined heat shrink over the
black wire 40mm from the end; do not apply
heat source at this point.
11. Use the crimp tool 418-116A to crimp the
black wire in the butt connector.

12. Install the glue-lined heat shrink into position
to cover the crimp. Use a heat source to make
sure the heat shrink is correctly bonded to the
butt connector to form a water tight seal.
13. Install the outer harness protector to fully
cover the crimped joint.

14. Install suitable electrical tape to secure the
harness protector.
15. Install the electrical connector C1E318 to the
charge air coolant pump.

16. Install the engine undershield (see TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-02).
17. Using Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD), clear any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in the Engine
Control Module (ECM).
